Local Organizations:

Family Welcome Centeris a non-profit organization created to serve the refugee and newcomer population in El Cajon and surrounding areas. They provide English, computer, and citizenship classes. They also help with job applications and acculturation.

Heart4Refugeesis an initiative that was started under the Syrian Community Network (SCN) of San Diego. It was established by a diverse team of community members with intentions to aid and to assist in easing the resettlement of Syrian refugees. Bridge Builders Network – is an initiative to promote bridge building efforts through education and service at the intersection of culture and faith.

Carry the Future– Carry the Future stands in solidarity with refugee families worldwide by personally providing humanitarian aid to ease their journey while creating meaningful opportunities for global volunteers to be a collective force of action and hope.

The San Diego Lost Boys of Sudan – is a non-profit, volunteer based organization created in 2002 that is dedicated to empowering the Lost Boys of Sudan in San Diego to pursue their goals by supporting their educational, emotional, physical and medical needs while maintaining and celebrating their cultural roots and identity.

The Hope Collective – is a non-profit dedicated to educating and empowering marginalized communities to help them thrive.


San Diego Refugee Forum– is a professional association of organizations and advocates serving all populations fleeing persecution and seeking refuge in San Diego. The San Diego Refugee Forum meets monthly to exchange  information and advocate on issues of concern to the community of people.
