Advocate

wewelcomerefugees100k1From We Welcome Refugees-“Now is the time, before January 20, 2017, we need you and 10,000 people to sign a pledge of support for refugees around the world, as new government administrations are on the brink of making decisions that effect refugees and immigration — and thousands of families like yours who have fled their homes in a wild search for safe refuge — because home has become the mouth of a monster. Now is when history needs you, your faith community, all of your people — to raise your voice for those who are crying to live.”

SD Refugee Tutoring

SDRT operates on a weekly basis meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Tutors work 1:1 with refugee students helping them with basic English and foundational math skills. Tutors also spend time reading with our students and playing educational games together. Returning tutors are encouraged to work with the same students for consistency.

Tutors can easily join us for any tutoring session and do NOT need any formal training to jump right in. REGISTER HERE if you’d like to join today
